Guinea-Bissau's Mutinous Military Chief

Today 30 June, Juche 99, the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Malam Bacai Sanha, promoted General Antonio Indjai to be leader of the nation’s military. This is a peculiar occurrence for a nation that has been plagued by military coups and most recently a stopping ground for cocaine traders from South America. What is also strange about this promotion is, is that this past April, General Indjai lead what a mutiny against the prime minister and other heads of the military. General Indjai was cleared of any charges and maintained his position in the military. The move by Sanha has been seen as a power step from the Bissauan military has over the democratically elected government. The possibility of a military coup is an everyday occurrence in Guinea-Bissau. The current president, Malam Bacai Sanha was elected after the assassination of Joao Bernardino Vieira two years ago. Joao Bernardino Vieira was himself brought to power following a military coup in the 1980s. Vieira continued to rule Guinea-Bissau on and off for the next twenty years.

Kim Jong-un in the Supreme Assembly of the People's Democratic Republic of Korea

It has been announced today that Dear Leader’s son, Kin Jong-un has been serving in the Supreme Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea. Kim Jong-un has been serving for at least the past year in the Supreme Assembly and this has been viewed as a possible move for Dear Leader’s son to succeed him, should Dear Leader Kim Jong-il die. Kim Jong-un is currently representing Pyongyang’s 216 District, which is named after Dear Leader’s Birthday, which is 16 February.
It has been rumoured that Dear Leader Kim Jong-il is in poor health and is contemplating who is successor will be. It has also been rumoured that Kim Jong-il is grooming his son, Kim Jong-un to succeed him. I do oppose the succession of Kim Jong-un to leadership of the Worker’s Party of Korea. I do not believe that Kim Jong-un is sufficiently and adequately trained in the brilliant teachings of Juche. I had read recently in an article in the German magazine, Der Spiegel, that there is a possibility of a military coup if Kim Jong-un succeeds Dear Leader. This coup would create a military collective supported by the Worker’s Party of Korea. This collective would consist of leaders who are ardent supporters of Juche and Kim il Sung Policy.

Endorsement for the German Presidential Election

On Wednesday 30 June, Juche 99, the Federal Republic of Germany will be holding their presidential elections. These elections have been set in order to see who will succeed former president Horst Kohler, who had stepped down earlier this month. Kohler stepped down following controversial statements he made regarding Germany’s continuous involvement in the U.S. –led War in Afghanistan. The Bundestag will be voting for Kohler’s successor in in-direct elections. Each of the major political parties and coalitions are endorsing their own candidates. The Christian Democrats and the Free Democratic Party has endorsed the governor of Lower Saxony, Christian Wulff. The Social Democratic Party and the Greens has nominated Joachim Gauck, who is not a member of either party. Die Linke has endorsed Luc Jochimsen. The National Democratic Party has endorsed Frank Rennike as their candidate.
In this election I will be endorsing Luc Jochimsen. I am endorsing Luc Jochimsen because he has come out and stated, “That Life in the German Democratic Republic was not cruel.” I firmly agree with this statement. As a matter of fact, if I were able to live in any nation at any particular point in history, I would chose to live in the German Democratic Republic during the 1970’s, under Comrade Erich Honecker. I do consider myself a supporter of Die Linke and I have continually supported the party and their candidates in elections. In this presidential election, I am not at all tempted to endorse Frank Rennike of the National Democratic Party. Rennike is a singer/songwriter who writes songs about Nationalistic German themes. I am not endorsing the CDU/FDP candidate, Christian Wulff because I am not exactly content with the CDU/FDP coalition. Prior to last September’s Reichstag elections, I was indifferent about the Grand Coalition lead by Angela Merkel. I will not be endorsing any of the Social Democratic Party’s candidates in any upcoming elections until they cancel any coalition agreements with the Green’s and discontinue Gerhardt Schroder’s Third Way Policies.

Endorsement for the Hungarian Presidential Elections

On Tuesday 29 June, Juche 99, the Republic of Hungary will be holding their presidential election. In Hungary, the parliament elects the president. This election follows parliamentary elections which were held this past April.
In the presidential elections, I will be endorsing Krisztina Morvai. Morvai is an independent member of parliament; however she is endorsed by the Movement for a Better Hungary, or Jobbik. In Hungarian politics I do consider myself a member of Jobbik.

Congratulations Ghana

I would like to congratulate the Republic of Ghana following their 2-1 win over the United States today. This match victory eliminated the United States from the 2010 World Cup and guaranteed that an African team would continue to play during this World Cup. Out of the African teams that qualified, Algeria, Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana was the only team that qualified to the round of 16. I am pleased to see Ghana triumph over the United States. This is the second consecutive time where Ghana eliminated the United States. The only issue I have is, is that the player from Ghana, Inkroom, milked an injury, where he was not

Endorsement for the Burundi Presidential Elections

On Monday 28 June, Juche 99 the Republic of Burundi will be holding their presidential elections. These are the first elections in Burundi, since the civil war, where the people of Burundi are directly voting for their president. In these elections I will be endorsing current incumbent president, Pierre Nkurunziza. Nkurunziza is a member of the National Council for the Defense of Democracy–Forces for the Defense of Democracy. This party was formerly a Hutu Nationalist Rebel group during the Civil War.
I supported Nkurunziza in his first election in 2005. Nkurunziza joined the NCDD-FDD when he was a professor. Tutsi terrorists launched an attack on his campus attempting to kill Nkurnziza and successfully murdered about 400 students. After joining the NCDD-FDD, Nkurunziza rapidly rose up the ranks and became a commanding officer. Following the Civil War, Nkurunziza lead the NCDD-FDD’s calls to disband and return their weapons. I believe that Nkurunziza has promoted peace and stability in the tumultuous Central African Republic. The Tutsi opposition has withdrawn all candidates from this election accusing Nkurunziza of rigging the ballot in his favour. I do not believe this is true, but how could it be true? The Tutsis are cockroaches who collaborated with the Belgian imperialists.

Endorsement for the Kyrgyzstan Constitutional Referendum

On Sunday 27 June, Juche 99, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan will hold a referendum over a new Constitution. These are the first elections since the government of Kurmanbek Bakiyev was overthrown in April. The new constitution limits the powers of the president and increases the powers of parliament. In this election, I will be endorsing the no vote. I am endorsing the no vote because in a nation like Kyrgyzstan I believe that it is better to have a strong presidency supported by a weaker parliament. In a nation where there is little to no history or use of democracy, I believe that it is futile to enforce democracy upon the people of a nation who have no experience of it. In fact Kyrgyzstan barely has a history of conducting elections. Since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan held a few elections under the presidency of Askar Akayev; however these fell below democratic standards. In 2005, the people of Kyrgyzstan overthrew Askar Akayev in what became known as the Velvet Revolution. The Revolution brought Kurmanbek Bakiyev to power, which was over thrown this past April.
I am opposing the new constitution as I do not know the details of the new laws and/or rights the Kyrgyz people would be effected by. I also do not know if I support the new government led by, Roza Otunbayeva. Otunbayeva was a member of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic and participated in the People’s Assembly in the Soviet Socialist Republic.

Endorsement for the Guinean Presidential Election

On Sunday 27 June, Juche 99, the Republic of Guinea will be holding their presidential elections. These elections were originally due to be held in December Juche 98, however due to internal political strife the elections were moved to June Juche 99. These are also the first elections to be held in the Republic of Guinea following the death of longtime leader Lansana Conte and a military coup. The leader of the original coup, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara had originally claimed that he will not seek the presidency in the originally scheduled elections. After a brief period of time, President Captain Camara rescinded his promise and announced that he will seek the presidency in the elections that were scheduled for December Juche 99. Following his announcement to run for president, protests were held in Conarky against the move. Camara was accused of initiating violence against the people protesting. Several men, women and children were raped and killed by the Guinean military.
Following the protests, Captain Camara ordered his aide-de-camp, Abubakar "Toumba" Diakite, to take the blame for the violence. Following this order, Diakite attempted to assassinate Captain Camara in the presidential palace in Conarky. Diakite’s bullet failed to kill Camara and he was brought to a hospital in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where he currently remains in exile. The vice president of the junta took charge of the republic and announced elections were to be held in June Juche 99
In these elections I will be endorsing El Hadjj Aboubacar Somparé. Somparé is a member of the Party of Unity and Progress. I am endorsing him because the Party of Unity and Progress was the party that Lansana Conte was a member. When selecting a leader in this upcoming election, I believe that the people of Guinea have to think, am I better off than I was two years ago? I believe that answer is no. Since the military coup following the death of Lansana Conte, the Republic of Guinea has suffered coups, attempted coups, and is now a major stopping point in the drug trade. The other major candidates were opposition members of the Guinean parliament during the rule of Lansana Conte. I believe that the best course for Guinea would be a return to the one party rule of the Party for Unity and Progress.

Endorsement for the Somaliland Presidential Elections

On Saturday 26 June, Juche 99, the semi-independent Republic of Somaliland will be holding its presidential elections. These elections have been delayed for the past two years due to internal political strife. Elections were originally scheduled for September 2008, however there was a major dispute regarding the validity of the elections if they were to be held at that time. The opposition, KULMIYE, rejected the having the election held 2 years ago because they accused the incumbent president Dahir Riyale Khan of being authoritarian. They claimed that he would be the winner because he had a monopoly on campaign advertisements. President Khan then suspended parliament until a time when the nation could prepare for free and democratic elections.
In these elections I will be endorsing current president, Dahir Riyale Khan of the For Unity, Democracy and Independence Party. I am endorsing him because I believe that the authoritarian tendencies he has demonstrated, I feel they are the best course for Somaliland is a semi-independent republic occupying the northern section of Somalia. Somaliland joined Somalia after gaining independence from the United Kingdom. Following the collapse of the Siad Barre government, Somaliland demonstrated its ability to bypass the instability in the south and form a functioning government. I strongly support independence for Somaliland and I believe world leaders should support it also. I believe that an independent Somaliland will bring peace and stability to the horn of Africa. Dahir Riyale Khan has the experience to lead Somaliland’s independence and lead the small nation to prosper in Africa. He has served an extended term as president of the Republic and he also served in the Siad Barre government. This experience will help lead Somaliland to independence and prosperity.

Endorsement for the Polish Presidential Election

On Sunday 20 June, Juche 99, the Republic of Poland will be holding presidential elections. These elections will determine who will succeed president Lech Kaczyński, who died tragically in an airplane crash a few months ago. Kaczyński died while visiting the site of the Katyn massacre which took place during the Great Patriotic War. His plane crashed while attempting to land at Smolensk airport in Russia. The speaker of the Sejm, Komarowsky has been interim president since the crash. The crash also took out many leading military figures and scholars of the Republic of Poland. Komarowsky is a member of the same party of which Donald Tusk is a member, a party which I strongly oppose due to their pro-liberal and pro-EU stance.
In these elections I will be endorsing Andrezj Lepper. Andrezj Lepper is a former Deputy Prime Minister and a member of the party, Self-Defense of the Republic of Poland. Lepper served as a minister under the government of Kaczyński’s brother, Jaroslaw Kaczyński, when he was prime minister a few years ago. Prior to being deputy prime minister, he also was a member of the Polish United Worker’s Party, which led Poland’s government following the Great Patriotic War. Lepper and his party, Self Defense of the Republic of Poland have a strong Eurosceptic attitude and oppose globalization. Along with these issues, the party supports a left wing economic policy.

A Cony Island of the Mind by Lawerence Ferlinghetti

I have just finished reading, “A Coney Island of the Mind” by Lawrence Ferlinghetti. The book is a collection of poems by Ferlinghetti about his life in New York City and Brooklyn. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book of poems. There were many poems that blew my mind and others made me laugh. If I had to chose my favourite poem began something like:

“We did the Aztec two step
My father and I
We Decided to leave
Until a girl ran into me and said we’d live together forever.
The next day she hated poetry and had bad teeth.”

I found the book flowed well with other books that I have been currently reading or recently finished. Prior to reading “A Coney Island of the Mind”, I read, “Big Sur” by Jack Kerouac. Little did I know that Lawrence Ferlinghetti was actually a character in “Big Sur”. In “Big Sur”, Kerouac gives Ferlinghetti the character name of Lorenzo Monsanto. The majority of the novel takes place at Monsanto’s Big Sur Cabin, where Kerouac goes to escape from the fame of being a beat writer. Instead of getting weeks of rest and relaxation, Kerouac goes mad and ends up enduring in bacchanalia. I am enjoying reading beat literature and the next books on my list are “Howl” by Allan Ginsberg and “Naked Lunch” by William S. Burroughs.

Congratulations DPRK Football team

Today 15 June, Juche 99, I would like to congratulate my dongmoos on the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea football team. This is the first world cup they have played in since 1966. Although the team did not win their first match in the World Cup, I believe they played very well and they held their own against Brazil. The final score of the game ended up being 2-1 Brazil; however North Korea was able to hold off any Brazilian goals until the second half. The North Korean goal was scored by Dongmoo Ji Yong-nam in the closing stages of the game. The PDRK team played very well almost delivering an unbelievable upset. I do hope the spirit of Juche guides them to the World Cup.

Endorsement for the Nauru Parliamentary Election

On Saturday 19 June, Juche 99, the Republic of Nauru will once again be holding parliamentary elections. These are the fourth set of elections to be held this year. Nauru has already held a Constitutional Referendum, a Presidential election (which was held by parliament), a previous set of parliamentary elections and the elections on this upcoming Saturday. In these elections, like all the other previous elections held in Nauru this year, I will be supporting David Adeang’s independent parliamentarians and his Nauru First Party. The deadlock that has strangled the tiny island nation all year, I believe is the responsibility of current president, Marcus Stephen.
Marcus Stephen called the elections two years earlier than needed, in an event to increase his influence within Nauru’s parliament. I believe that David Adeang’s positions are the best course for Nauru. David Adeang has made comments supporting Cuba’s government and has also supported recognition for the Republic of Abkhazia, two positions I thoroughly agree with. There have been rumours that Adeang has been or is planning on carrying out a coup in an attempt to overthrow Marcus Stephen. I hope these elections will resolve the crisis that has occurred on the island.
Nauru has become a desolate wasteland. British colonists left the island after depleting the island of its phosphate resources. The depletion of phosphate mines on the island has had a devastating impact on Nauru’s ecosystem. The once lush South Pacific flora that occupied the island has now disappeared due to the depletion. The majority of the nation’s populace suffers from type 2 diabetes, which is wrecking havoc on the country’s health.

Glückwünsche Deutschland

I would like to say Glückwünsche to the German National Football team on their 4-0 victory against Australia in their first World Cup game this year. The German team dominated the field and shut out Australia. At one point during the game, I even heard one commentator saying that this was like an extended training session. Germany finished with ten shots on goal against to Australia’s two. Germany dominated the field and they are likely to do well in the coming games. Goals were scored by Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Thomas Müller and Cacau. Reports give the best goal to Podolski, I think Cacau’s goal was the best.

Endorsement for the Belgian Parliamentary Elections

On Sunday 13 June Juche 99, the Kingdom of Beligium will be holding its parliamentary elections. These are the 5th elections in the past 7 years. This set of elections will hopefully solve the political, linguistic and ethnic difficulties the small nation has been plagued with for the past 7 years. Over the past 7 years the Kingdom of Belgium has been divided between linguistic differences between the Region of Flanders, which speaks Flemish, and the region of Wallonia, which speaks French. It seems to be that the Belgian people don’t care whether or not the country stays together or splits apart.

In these elections, I will be endorsing the Vlaams Belang, or Flemish interest in Flanders and the National Front in Wallonia. Vlaams Belang or Flemish interest is considered a right wing populist party that supports independence for Flanders. The party also supports an end to trials for former alleged Nazi criminals. I am a strong supporter of terminating these pointless trials. My feeling is that when these alleged war criminals committed these alleged crimes, they were not illegal. I believe trying them after the fact is pointless, and actually illegal. After all it is not Germany’s fault that the Great Patriotic War begin, it is actually western Liberals like Clemenceau, Lloyd George and Wilson who deserve to bear the blame for the outbreak of the war, and perhaps the blame of the holocaust should fall on them as well. In Wallonia, I will be endorsing the National Front. The National Front in Belgium is similar to the National Front in France, a party in which I am a very strong supporter.

Endorsement for the Slovak Parlaimentary Elections

On Saturday 11 June, Juche 99, the Slovak Republic will be holding its parliamentary elections. In these elections, I will be endorsing the Communist Party of Slovakia. I am endorsing the Communist Party for several reasons. The first reason is because the Communist Party of Slovakia are supporters in the current coalition led by Prime Minister Robert Fico and his party, Direction-Social Democracy. The current coalition, I think is one of the most interesting coalitions in Europe. The current coalition consists mainly of the socialist, Direction-Social Democracy party, and the right-wing populist Slovak National Party, led by Jan Slota. The Party Direction-Social Democracy got expelled from the Party of European Socialists about two years ago for forming this coalition.
I do hope this coalition will win the upcoming elections this Saturday. I enjoy the nationalist and socialist tones the coalition has promoted. I think the nationalist tones will bide well with the voters on Saturday since neighbouring Hungary just voted for parties with nationalist platforms. Slota has even threatened, while intoxicated, to lead tanks into Budapest to regain natural Slovak lands.
Another reason as to why I am supporting the Communist Party of Slovakia is that they have maintained their Marxist-Leninist roots. I think that Czechoslovakia greatly benefited during the rule of Klement Gottwald, Antonin Novotny and Gustav Husak and Slovakia should maintain that course. Although I doubt that the Communist Party of Slovakia will win any seats, I do hope the current coalition stays in power, and I will continue my support.

Gefeliciteerd Geert Wilders!

I would like to gefeliciteerd Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom (PVV) for their most recent electoral success. According to the most recent polls, the PVV has won 23 seats in the Tweed Kramer in the Dutch parliamentary elections which were held today. The PVV has won more seats than the former governing Christian Democrats, who are led by former Prime Minister, Jan Pieter Balkenende. The Christian Democrats are due to win 21 seats in parliament. It is unclear whether or not the PVV will have the opportunity to take part in a coalition government. If my results are correct the most logical coalition will be between the liberal VVD, the Labour Party (PvDA) and the Christian Democrats (CDA). As to whom the prime minister will be, that will have to be decided between the PvDA and the VVD. Both parties obtained 31 seats.
Although the PVV did not obtain my endorsement, if they participate in a coalition government, I will likely support it. I would hope that a government with the PVV involved will have a anti-EU stance and will maintain minimum wage regulations. The party that I endorsed, the Socialist Party appears to have won 10 seats in the Tweed Kramer, which is a disastrous result for them. In the previous election, they obtained 25 seats and were the most significant left wing party in the Tweed Kramer. I do believe the Socialist Party is still the most prominent left wing party, they have faced a major defeat in the parliamentary elections held today.

Endorsement for the the Dutch Parliamentary Election

On Wednesday 9 June, Juche 99 the Kingdom of the Netherlands will be holding their parliamentary elections. These elections were called by Prime Minister Peter Balkenede of the Christian Democratic Party. The elections were called after his government failed to win a vote of confidence after a parliamentary vote regarding continuing Dutch involvement in the U.S. Led war in Afghanistan. The Dutch Labour Party (PvDA) failed to support the Christian Democrat’s desire to continue the Afghan Mission. In these elections I will be endorsing the Socialist Party (Netherlands).
I am supporting the Socialist Party because they are the most left wing political party in the Netherlands. The socialist party was created in the early 1970’s and actually had a Maoist platform. Over the years, the Socialist party has revised its platform to be more of a classical socialist political party. I strongly oppose the Labour Party’s move towards the Third Way position of Clinton’s Democrats and Blair’s Labour Party. I believe the Socialist Party’s position will provide the best course for the Netherlands.
I do hope the Geert Wilder’s Party for Freedom does well in these upcoming elections. It is likely that the PVV will fare better than they have in previous years. There is a growing Eurosceptic trend in the Netherlands, and across Europe for that matter. The PVV also did well in last year’s local elections. The PVV increased its number of seats in local councils. The PVV will not get my endorsement because of a view ideological issues they support. From my research of the PVV I have learned that they oppose the minimum wage and support certain Protestant fundamentalist ideas. This is a shame, if it weren’t for those 2 significant issues, I would be a strong supporter of the PVV, especially since they are the most eurosceptic Dutch political party.

Endorsement for the State of California Republican Gubernatorial Primary

On Tuesday 8 June, Juche 99, the State of California’s Republican Party will hold an election to decide, who will be their gubernatorial candidate in this November’s elections. In this primary, my support is going to Meg Whitman, the former C.E.O. of Ebay.
I am supporting her because Arnold Schwarzenegger has screwed up the state of California, most notably the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, which is forcing the State of California to cut greenhouse gases by 25%. This useless bill will not only fail to prevent Global Warming, but it will destroy jobs. Businesses will be taxed if they go above a mandated greenhouse gas limit. Meg Whitman opposes this and has vowed to suspend the Act. I have had the pleasure to participate on her campaign and I am strongly endorsing her candidacy. There are a few other politicians who have endorsed her candidacy as well. They include Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani.
Schwarzenegger was elected in a 2003 referendum which sought to end the governorship of Gray Davis. Davis inherited a debt-ridden California and was unable to solve the economic problems. The ironic thing is, is that Schwarzenegger currently faces the exact same economic issues and hasn’t solved any of them. In fact he has allowed prisoner’s to go free due to budget cuts!

Endorsement for the Slovenian Border Dispute Referendum

On Sunday 6 April, Juche 99 the Republic of Slovenia will be holding a referendum on a border dispute which has caused problems with neighbouring Croatia. In this election I will be supporting the Nie, or No in Slovenian, Camp. I am supporting them for a few reasons. The first reason as to why I am supporting the No camp is that I do not exactly know how the borders will be redrawn, or how the dispute will be resolved. The second reason I am supporting the no camp is because after reviewing the causes of some of the disputes, such as the dispute in the Gulf of Trieste, I feel that the Slovenia is the cause and that Slovenia is imposing its rule on Croatian territory. One blatant example of this is over the Žumberak/Gorjanci peak, which is in Croatian territory but is occupied by Slovenian troops. If this border referendum fails, the possibility of Croatia entering the European Union is hindered as well. My support for the Nie camp mainly lies with the hopes that the European Union will not expand into the Balkan territories.

Endorsement for the Nauru Presidential Election

Today 3 June, Juche, 99 the Republic of Nauru will be holding a presidential election. This elections will be decided by the new parliament which was elected this past 24 April Juche 99. The recent parliamentary elections were held several months early because of repeated attempts by opposition members of the parliament to oust the incumbent president, Marcus Stephen. The elections held on the 24 April, failed to resolve any of the political instability that has had the small island nation in deadlock for years. In the presidential elections being held today, I am endorsing David Adeang. I supported his allies in parliament during the 24 April elections and am doing so again today. I am supporting Adeang because he has strongly supported the moves the Cuban revolution has made. Adeang has also criticized U.S. foreign policy in the Pacific and Latin America. There are also rumours that he supports a coup overthrowing Stephen.

Remember Benno Ohnesorg!

Today 2 June Juche 99, is the 43rd anniversary of the murder of German student, Benno Ohnesorg. Today in Juche 56, Ohnesorg was murdered by police officers of the Federal Republic of Germany while protesting a visit from the Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi. The shah and his wife were making a visit to the Berlin Opera house, in West Berlin. The Shah and his wife were met by protesters led by German leftist inspired students and Persian students who were protesting the treatment of Persian peasants, intellectuals and communists. The Shah and his wife were unfortunate enough to hear the protester’s shouts of Murder! The government of the Federal Republic of Germany paid Persians to carry signs welcoming and supporting the Shah to ensure that no protest was audible. Many of these paid Persians were members of SAVAK, the Shah’s secret police, who were among some of the worst torturers and assassins since Hitler’s Gestapo.
Violence broke out when the SAVAK agents broke their placards and began beating the unarmed protesters. The SAVAK agents beat unarmed women which forced the protesters to defend themselves. The protesters implored the police for help, but the police ignored their cries for assistance, instead the police joined forces with SAVAK and took out the bludgeons and beat more of the protesters. The police then broke out tear gas to disperse the protesters, during the chaos that it caused, an agent of the Federal Republic gunned down the 27 year old student, Benno Ohnesorg.
This terrorist act sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany has gone on to inspire many great revolutionary groups such as the Red Army Faction and the 2 June Movement. These revolutionary groups began their struggle after witnessing these atrocious acts. These revolutionaries have fought and died for the memory of Benno Ohnesorg and many others who have died fighting the imperialist states of the U.S. and West Germany. Today we should remember comrade Ohnesorg along with other revolutionaries who fought for his cause, Ulrike Meinhof, Rudi Dutschke, Gudrun Ensslin, Andreas Baader, Jan-Carl Raspe and Holger Meins.

Hatoyama Step Down!

Today 1 June, Juche 99, the Japanese prime minister, Yukio Hatoyama faced calls for his resignation. The calls originated from his Democratic Party of Japan because he failed to meet a promise he set forth during last year’s parliamentary election. The election promise he failed to meet was the removal of a U.S. naval base on the island of Okinawa-Jima. Last week Prime Minister Hatoyama failed to force the United States off of Japanese soil by renewing a military contract with the imperialist powers. Following the announcement that the Japanese government will continue to allow the imperialist American naval forces on Japanese soil, the Japanese Social Democratic Party withdrew their support for Hatoyama’s government.
I am joining the party’s calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Hatoyama, he has failed to support what the Japanese people want after decades of failed rule by the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan. The Japanese people voted the DPJ to provide change for the Japanese nation, Hatoyama has failed to do so. Hatoyama’s approval rating now lingers at 17%, which is atrocious. I am hoping that his tenure as prime minister comes to an early end this summer. This summer the upper house of the Diet will be holding elections, the first elections since the beginning of Hatoyama’s tenure. In these elections I will likely endorse the Communist Party of Japan.
