Results of the Hessian State Election

Today 18 January, 2009 the German state of Hesse held parliamentary elections. This is election is widely expected to show who will win the upcoming Federal election which will take place on 27 September. Chancellor Angela Merkel's party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) won 37,2% of the vote, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) won 23,7%, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) won 16,2%, The Green Party won 13.7%, and Die Linke won 5.4%.
In this election I was supporting The National Democratic Party (NPD) of Ugo Voigt. The NPD received more than 23.000 votes in the state. The National Democratic Party recently has been under pressure due the the certain members of the Reichstag attempted to ban them, and also NPD members recently attempted to assassinate a German Police Chief. I was supporting them because of their anti-European and anti-Liberal tendencies. I also believe Turkish immigration is bad for Germany. Turkish immigrants have the reputation of committing significant crime. The NPD wishes to limit immigration.
This election is likely model for the upcoming election in September. It is likely Angela Merkel will win the upcoming election because she has done a good job. I am indifferent to her government. The only major issue will be her lax attitude regarding the economy. Recently she has started to invest in the economy. In the Federal elections, I believe I will support Die Linke, the former Democratic Party of Socialism, I do agree with much of their rheatoric, however I will make my final decision when I review their position on the European Union and the environment.

Support for the Mauritanian Junta

On 6 August, 2008 the military of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, over threw the first democratically elected government in the nation's history. Since the beginning of the military government of General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Mauritania's government has become significantly more stable. I also opposed the original coup, which lead way for the democratically elected government, and overthrow of President Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed. The Mauritanian Junta today announced that elections will be held before the year 2009 is over. As of this moment, I will support the military backed candidate.

Endorsment for the Salvadorian Parliamentary Elections

On Sunday, 18 January, 2009, the Republic of El Salvador will hold parliamentary elections. My official endorsement for the parliamentary elections is the Farabundo Martí Liberation Movement. I am endorsing the Farabundo Martí Liberation Movement because they are the political party I typically support in Salvadoreñan politics. The Farabundo Martí Liberation Movement began in the 1980's and began a Communist revolution in El Salvador. During the 1980's, U.S. President Ronald Reagan supported the military backed-government of El Salvador against the Communist rebels. In 2004, El Salvador voted for António Saca. During his presidency Saca made El Salvador one of the U.S.'s Staunchest allies in Latin America. Saca even went as far as to deploy Salvadorian troops to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. With the economic troubles that are effecting the entire world and the collapse of the United States of America, it would be wise for the small Republic of El Salvador to vote for the Farabundo Martí Liberation Movement because the party's Communist beliefs will allow for economic assistance from the People's Republic of China which is due to become the world's superpower, if it isn't already. Voting for a left-wing political party will assist in foreign relations with other Latin American nations. Two of El Salvador's neighbours have left wing governments.
